The Jam Handy is located at 2900 East Grand Boulevard. The Gothic-Revival structure is an iconic building, as it was utilized as a film production sound stage from the 1930s through the 1960s by the Jam Handy Organization. The organization specialized in industrial films and filmstrips and was established in the 1920s by Olympic Swimmer Jamison Handy. Today the building is one of the only remaining relics of the Jam Handy Organization and Detroit’s once ambitious film industry.

ABOUT THE JAM HANDY

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Given the rich history of the building, we've seen a large number of stories unfold - each one as unique as the event itself! Thank you Detroit, for allowing us to be a gathering place, and often times a place of celebration, for our amazing community.
